Best of Monterey County 2025
We’re Feeling the Love: Best of Monterey County 2025
Every year, Monterey County Weekly asks readers to name the best of everything around here, from tacos to trails to taprooms. And this year, you all showed up for us in a big way.
We’re proud (and honestly a little blown away) to share that Alvarado Street Brewery was voted Best Local Brewery/Bar for Gen X, Best Place to Eavesdrop, and Best Server in Monterey County.
That last one means a lot. Chelsea Dalhamer, our longtime server and all-around legend, took home the “Best Server” award. She’s been with us for 12 years, pouring beers, running the floor on packed nights, and somehow still smiling through it all. She’s family, and this one is so well-deserved.
The theme of this year’s issue was “games,” which feels right. Brewing, hospitality, the whole industry—it’s all about showing up, having fun, and keeping things moving. And yes, sometimes we play to win.
More than anything, being named the best in Monterey County feels like a community win. It’s a reflection of everyone who’s ever stopped by for a pint, voted in these polls, or just supported what we do.
So from all of us at ASB, thank you. For voting, for visiting, and for believing in what we’re building here.
If you haven’t been in a bit, swing through. Grab a Mai Tai P.A., a burger, and a seat near the bar. The people-watching is great, the beer is fresh, and the energy is exactly what makes Monterey special.
Cheers to another year of good beer and good company. 🍻
